10.28.07 So... it's been a while since we've spoken last. For that, kind reader, I am sorry. However, it is time to turn a new leaf over. Let's get up-to-date. With the end of summer came the end of relentless gigging with the Trio. A little while back as a duo, Matt Seskevics (percussion extraordinaire) and I opened a show at the Canal Street Tavern for the Ryan Montbleau Band. That show was a major delight. Nice guys, great musicians, and a killer sound. They're also coming back to play a show in mid November at Canal Street again; so go check 'em out. Just two nights ago, I opened a show for Michael Kelsey. That guy... Amazing. Takes being a one-man-band far and beyond levels of comprehension. Fantastic guitarist. That and the crowd that night was simply so much fun to play before. That was the first solo gig I've had in a looong time, and it made me realize how important that is for my soul to get out and do every so often. That's pretty much all that's been going on lately. Still have short hair. Broke my glasses while cleaning them. Got a twelve-string guitar. ...Okay, now we're up -to-date. It's been lovely chatting, but I gotta go.. Come check out the Alec Delphenich Trio on November 14th at the Canal Street Tavern. Updates will be posted as new info is learned. Thanks, and you go take care of yourself. ..Maybe get off your feet for a while. You've been working so hard lately, and we are all proud of you. Anything you need- just let me know. I'll only be in the kitchen if you need me. Alright, well you have a good rest. See you soooon. -This family moment is brought to you in part by: ALEC DELPHENICH 6.1.07 Extra! Extra! Read me typing all about it! ...Right... Well I wanted to let you, the world, know I just updated my MySpace page. I even changed my profile picture; which hasn't been done in two years. I also put up a couple new songs. One is a funny song about my thoughts on cults. I just happened to be thinking about them and figured I should hit record and let whatever happens. The other one I wrote for a French class I'm taking. There are some errors, but someday I'll record the right words and let you have that version. For now, you can at least enjoy the pretty, little birdies singing in the background. Finally, you should expect to see a few changes to the site. I'm in an English class that has learned me a few things about layout issues I'm sure I've got going on. Welp, thanks for checking in. Hope all's well. Goodnight, world. -Alèc 5.27.07 Alright, got some updates for yas. First, the trio will be playing quite a few shows over this summer; so keep your eyes peeled for that. We've got three dates up for Gregory's on the "Shows" page as of now. Second, this friday I will be playing live on WWSU 106.9fm for my friend's radio show. When I find out times and everything I will post them up here. Third, Tim Horton's has a new butter caramel flavored iced frappuccino supreme. It's delicious except for the whipped cream. It's a bit thick and the caramel syrup is a bit too much. Maybe it's just me though. Finally, I've been in a writing "frenzy," if you will, and hopefully some good songs will come out of it. So get your buns out to some shows and maybe you'll get to hear some! Weeee! Okay, that frappuccino's caffeine is getting to me. I'm gonna go... maybe paint all the walls of my appartment. Hey when you've got the energy, why not? -omgiammonacaffeinehighfromhellandmynameisalecahhhhhh 3.7.07 Sooooo... remember when I haven't updated this in almost a year? Looks like it's just a few days shy. Haha, yeah.. well college happens and you find you have no time to do anything. Let's call it a late new year's resolution, but I promise to keep you better informed from checking this site. Things you will find that have changed: working links, the "shows" page will now only have upcoming gigs rather than every single one I've made the attempt to record. Previously I had them up only because I'm super OCD and needed to know them, but seeing as how it's pointless info to those who want to know what's coming up I'll switch it around. I'll also be finishing all the lyrics to the songs I've got up so if you want to read them you'll be able to. Hmm... just expect the world out of this site from now on. I've also talked to a great, great friend of mine about getting a hip new site going with flash and the whole shebangabang. (Yeah that's a word. Don't even worry about checking Webster's.) So yeah.. I, Alec Delphenich, promise to be more than an artist and keep you informed at what's going on with my musical world. Deal? You listen, I play, and everybody's happy. If you're reading this than thank you more than a bagiillion times (also no need to check the dictionary) for looking into my music or even being forced by a friend. So world, I hope all is well. Until next time, you take care. -Website Neglect King (or just Alec if you want to be specific) 3.15.06 Hi everybody! (Hi Dr. Nick!) Just wanted to let y'all know I have started to put lyrics to songs on here. There will be a link after the songs listed on the "Music" page. It'll make singing them in your shower, car, head, and and at my shows a lot easier! Hopefully I will have all of them up shortly; so keep your eyes open. Smell ya later. -Shmalec 2.28.06 I would like to let you all know that a terrible accident occurred nearly three weeks ago while I was working on a recording. I left my guitar sitting face against the side of my bed and went to look for some headphones. As I walked away I moved the rug it was sitting on ever so slightly. A second later "SMACK!" my guitar fell face first onto the tile floor. I could tell i chipped the nut, but that's not too big of a deal. Hours later, I picked it up and noticed a crack along the seam where the headstock is connected to the neck. *Gasp!* Could it be the end for my Seagull... After two weeks of waiting and hoping my baby would be okay, I fially got her back. Now, with a new maple overlay on the backside of the headstock and a new bone nut, she is stronger and prettier than ever. I would like to send out a HUUUUGE thanks to Mark Kaiser of Fret Repair (located in Franklin, OH / Phone: 937-743-7991). He does amazing work. My guitar is living proof for he has done numerous repairs on it. If you are having guitar problems I would give him a call. Also, thank you to all of my friends who helped me through the ordeal and to my dad for letting me borrow his guitar while mine was under the knife. I couldn't have made it without all of you. Now what have we all learned from this story??? ALWAYS USE YOUR GUITAR STAND! Accidents do happen. You can't control them. It's why they're called accidents. -This is Alec Delphenich signing off... 1.23.06 NEW RECORDINGS UP ON MYSPACE! Each song was recorded especially for my profile. The first three are from friday night and the last one is from sunday night. I wanted to capture the essence of dorm life for me. Through the efforts of myself and my roommate, Kyle, I think we accomplished just that. To get the full effect you should listen to each one in order. They're filled with all sorts of live, fun things like screw ups and me making up tons of words. For instance, the crazy intro to "Tidal Dream." I am super excited about how they turned out and I hope you like them. Thanks to everyone who's been supporting my music. These songs are for you. -A 1.7.06 Website construction has began. Bear with me while I get everything in order. Be happy that I finally have one. : ) -Alec
