Thank you to everyone who has been supporting the Trio throughout the summer.  I know it can be exhausting coming out to all of the playoff shows that appear in the middle of the week.  All of our hard work paid off when we made it to the Dayton Band Playoffs Semi-Final Round.  We had a blast playing with all of the other bands, and we've made some great friends out of the deal.

Now we have one last show for a little while this Thursday at Canal Street.  We're playing with an amazing group out of Chapel Hill, NC- Bombadil.  What I have heard from their recordings on MySpace I've loved, so definitely check them out.  All of the information I've put on the "Shows" tab above.  Need directions?  No problem!  (That's my sales pitch for the Shows page, if you were wondering.)

Now let's get down to some other business.  If you've been coming out to our shows, only had the chance to get a sticker and are you want more then listen up.  Albums are coming.  I've been talking about recording with the Trio for a while, but I haven't menntioned anything about some more solo recordings.  Now what I'm planning on doing is recording three to four seperate EPs within the next couple of months.  Finally you can get cought up on what I've been writing over the last four years (yes it's been that long since I released "Three Lights").

There will still be a Trio album in the making, but the problem there is getting our schedules to match up so we can actually get in and record.  This way you can get your hands and ears on something right now!  I've already been counting my eggs before they hatch and am looking at booking heaps of shows.  Right now it's looking like Dayton, Columbus, Cincinnati, Oxford, Cleveland, Kent, Akron, Toledo, and Athens (for Ohio).  Then getting out of state in Chicago, Indianapolis, Bloomington, and possibly a few other places in Pennsylvania and New York.

So keep checking back because it looks like many things are coming up in the near future!  Exciting isn't it?  Take care, and thanks for supporing the tunes.

Hello everyone.  I have some great news for ya.  Summer's back and so is the Dayton Band Playoffs.  The Alec Delphenich Trio is back in it again, and hopefully we'll be able to get far.  After the first round we are in second place; which is amazing.  There are some great bands in it this year.  For example, if you've seen many of our shows then you've probably seen Joose Box at some point.  Even if we're not playing a night, you should go down to Canal Street Tavern and check out some of the other bands involved.  The Playoffs need your support.

To entice you to come out, each show is going to have its own unique flavor.  For the first round guest bassist David VanOverloop and Orange Willard's Evan Davell joined Matt and I.  To everyone that came out  to our last show: I can not thank you enough.  There was an overwhelming amount of friends and fans that came out to support us.  For those of you who weren't able to make it, you missed out on a good time.  That's why you should do your best to make it to the next round.  We're playing Sunday, July 27th with a band called S.O.L.  It'll be starting around 9pm.  Hope to see you there.

It's been a while hasn't it?  Well, my apologies.  I meant to call you back.. I just got a little busy with... things.  That's all.

Moving on, I would like to announce that recording on the album has started.  After a few sessions I experienced quite a run of colds and hopefully will be getting back in sometime soon.  Perhaps it was meant to be for while I was ill I spent a lot of time doing home recordings and making rough drafts for what I would like to record.  We'll see what happens.  I'm optimistic about everything.

I can tell you right now that it will probably include a fair mix of solo, acoustic-based, and full band songs.  Most of them will be songs that have yet to be recorded.  Who knows if a few new versions of old songs make it.  Being that the last official album was made roughly four years ago, I have a lot to work with.

Welp, my friend, keep checking in.  I expect to have the website updated with more multimedia-based goodies as well as some new pages.  I'll try to post upcoming shows, but for the most part I've been taking it easy and just playing an open mic here and there.  Later gators.

Well, I hope everyone has been enjoying their February.  I know I have...  God, I can't wait for nice weather.  Ohio's climate makes me unhappy.  Anywho, crap weather aside, things are looking good on the music front.  I'll be looking to do some recording in the near future now that a few preliminary things are out of the way.  Next step is funding the record.

I also write to you much less irate than previously stated.  I suppose people are allowed to have their own opinions, even though they may relay them disrespectfully.  Have to roll with the punches.  Besides, it's not worth the energy it takes to let things bug you that much.   *Deep breath*

Well keep checking in because I'll be updated the site with new shows and other exciting events.  Talk to ya soon.

Sooo... How are things?  Good?  Well, that's great to hear.  I suppose everything's just as good over here.  This begins a new chapter where my life's direction is being drawn with musical notes.. I couldn't think of a better analogy or whatever you would call that.  ...either way, now a days I'm puting all my efforts into music.  School's on hold for now, and hopefully I'm going to find that my life's passion will carry me to a new place.

First order of buisness is getting a new recording going.  Then out for touring to spread my creations.  Hopefully, I will be able to sustain a spot in the world of live music.  Only time will tell on that one, I guess.

If you've been out to see me and the Trio play lately I would like to thank you.  Last friday we played at the Nite Owl.  It was a great show.  We played with the Gay Sharks (of the Motel Beds) and the Poison Control Center.  Our bassist, Jim, couldn't make it out so my dad got to fill in.  It was great.  My dad bought a bass a few months ago, and I'm glad he got to put it to good use (Haha).  He can throw down.  That's all I have to say about that.

A while back we played with the Poison Control Center group which came all the way from Iowa.  It was great to see those guys again.  I would highly suggest checking them out.  While you're at it make sure to listen to the Gay Sharks/Motel Beds.  I wish I was better at describing bands, but all I can tell you is that you'll instantly be taken by their tunes.

Luckily we were able to make a recording of all three bands from that night.  It's always a hoot to listen to yourself live.  All the mess ups and beautifully unique disasters make it completely worth while.  I do have to say that after listening to "I Know" that I was a bit in awe.  After an amazing jam session a guy goes up to the sound guy (which is where our recording device was located) and goes on to say "These guys suck.  This sucks.  This is awefull.  Fucking terrible.  You have no business doing music."  I appologise for the profanity, but it's neccessary to tell this story.  As soon as we end the guy also yells "You suck!"  then a fan of ours yells "You guys rule."  After they keep trading off opinions you can hear the sound guy telling the moron to settle down or he'll have to leave.

What I would like to say about that is the next time that fellow makes it out to one of our shows he may come up on stage and play everything that we had just played.  If he can do that, then I will except that I have no business doing music.  Until then, he can go fuck himself.  If a car happens to hit him or some other freak accident, then that's just as good.

Sorry... kinda bitter.  It's best to not let things get to you like that.  However, after having to listen to that recording over and over while mixing it, those words crawled right under my skin..

Anywho, keep checking in for updates.  Lately I've just created an electronic press kit you could go check out at sonicbids.com.  Fingers crossed, it'll help out in the shows department.  Maybe I'll even make it to your town!  Well, happy new year everyone.  Hope it's a good one.

Well, I hope all of you are having a great time these days.  Around these parts it's starting to get cold and snowy.  Yay, winter...  Just like to let you know, more lyrics are up on the music page.  Now you can sing along to all of your favorite songs using the actual words.  If you have also had problems understanding what I'm singing, maybe they will help you out.

Also, be sure to come out the 14th to see myself, Nick DeFrange, and The Floorwalkers.  If you don't know where the Herbst Theatre is, you can find it in the basement of the Creative Arts Center at Wright State University.  It's gonna be quite a show.

Thanks for tuning in.  Be sure to check back for more updates.  This season will bring much more to this site, I feel.  'Til we meet again.
